Zioxi partnered with the Microsoft Educational team to design and furnish an inspirational showcase classroom at the Microsoft Headquarters in the heart of London. The Microsoft Showcase Classroom is an innovative environment for teachers, school leaders and students to explore new technologies.
The space was conceived as a dynamic and flexible environment, tailored to support a variety of teaching activities, from traditional lectures to interactive workshops and collaborative group work. Zioxi’s design focused on providing adaptable solutions that could easily be reconfigured to meet the changing needs of different sessions. Central to this approach were modular, movable furniture pieces. These included lightweight desks and S41 soft seating that could be quickly arranged into different set-ups for collaborative discussions, or individual workstations for focused tasks. The furniture was designed not only for flexibility but also for comfort, with ergonomic features to support long sessions.
The feel of the classroom is modern and bright, with a playful edge. One standout feature of the design was the integration of technology. The space incorporated tech-enabled furniture, such as the zioxi HubTables and charging stations, ensuring that devices could stay powered during extended sessions.
The result was a classroom that could effortlessly adapt to a range of teaching methods, creating an engaging and interactive environment for both instructors and students. Zioxi’s design provided Microsoft with a modern, forward-thinking learning space that encourages creativity, collaboration, and productivity.
“It’s a really interesting space – hi-tech and hi-spec whilst remaining thoughtful and playful. As you would expect, the room is packed full of technology and flexible furniture and this surely played its part in helping to inspire and open minds throughout our day there. It includes lots of different break-out spaces and we were able to work in different ways together at different times during the day, in different size groups, with and without technology” -Tom Rees Head Teacher @ Simon De Senlis Primary
