The vision for the school was to create classroom spaces that were flexible, the Learning Resource Centre which would become the ‘heart’ of the school and also to maximise storage space wherever possible. The classroom desks and chairs needed to be easily rearranged by the students.
With it’s granite counters, sleek white tables and chrome-framed chairs, the multi-coloured skylight communal dining area looks and feels nothing like a school. And that’s the point – the beautifully designed spaces and high quality furniture makes both students and staff feel respected and valued.
The vision for the school was to create a bright and engaging learning environment which would become an important space for not only the pupils at the school, but also for the wider community. A CubeWall system was designed to provide a colourful landscape of storage cubes around the perimeter of the room.
Exeter wanted to provide the best possible learning environment for its students in Sport and Health Sciences. zioxi installed 100 M1 desks with integrated IT hardware to deliver a high-performing, multi-purpose IT suite. With the IT concealed, the room can be used as a standard lecture theatre or training rooms.
Working alongside WW Martin and Folkestone Academy, Zioxi provided an imaginative and exciting furniture solution for the whole school. Zioxi developed an impressive bespoke fixed storage solution to incorporate the curved walls whilst maximising space for storage.
The School of the Built Environment. Zioxi created Architectural Student Desking. A freestanding multi functional unit supported on a pedestal base with a counterbalance. The desks are designed to be used as computer workstations, layout desks and display areas.
Southwark Council has three One Stop Shops in its borough. The drop-in centres provide advice, information and help for anyone living, working or visiting Southwark. As unique venues the furniture needed to be designed for the specific requirements of the centres and their varying architecture.
St Teresa’s Primary School visited the Microsoft Showcase space in London, the School came back inspired and full of ideas on what they would like to achieve in their own high tech spaces. Being multi-functional, adaptable and engaging were the key points to making these spaces work.
